After an unfortunate automobile accident ended his construction career in 2015, Johnny Harms of Freeburg needed a new vocation. He and his wife, Donna, started Johnny’s BBQ Sauce in 2018, based on a recipe Johnny created more than 10 years ago. The gourmet sauce, which can also be used as a marinade, is now available in more than 25 stores and restaurants. St. Clair County Farm Bureau members describe the sauce as “not too spicy with a little kick and bursting with flavor.”
