You can get your kicks on Route 66 – and a deliciously fizzy beverage, too.
Route 66 Sodas, based in Mokena (just outside of Chicago), has been bottling gourmet root beer – or “route” beer – since 1996, and now has expanded to other tasty soda flavors, including grape, black cherry, orange, lime and cream soda.
You can find the sodas, which come in collectible glass bottles, along Route 66 in Illinois and beyond, as well as at Route 66 icons, museums, restaurants, and online. The company plans to continue promoting the iconic highway with its products, encouraging travelers to explore Route 66 while enjoying “ones for the road.”
