The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates the average age of today’s farmers at 58 years old, and half of all farmers do not have an estate plan. On some farms, the next generation already lives and works on the farm and is ready to take over. But on others, family members aren’t involved in decisions at all and might live hundreds of miles away.

Illinois Farm Bureau and COUNTRY Financial are teaming up for a series of succession planning meetings this winter to help. The meetings will provide knowledge, tools and other support to help keep the farm in the family despite today’s financial challenges.

Meeting Dates:

Feb. 25, 2020: Hickory Grove Banquet and Conference Center, Rochelle
Feb. 26, 2020: I Hotel and Conference Center, Champaign

Feb. 27, 2020: Kokopelli Golf Club, Marion
