On Jan. 30, it was announced that 25 properties across the state of Illinois would be added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of properties that merit special attention and preservation and, in general, are more than 50 years old. Each county in Illinois has at least one property or historic district that is listed on the National Register.
