In an effort to promote healthy eating and behaviors while supporting local farmers, the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Market has become a wellness destination.

The indoor farmers’ market takes place on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon at the Logan County Fairgrounds in Lincoln from May through September, and it sells only homegrown, handmade or vendor-created items from locally owned Illinois operations. Visitors can expect to find fresh meats, eggs, baked goods, fruits and vegetables. The weekly market is indoors so it takes place rain or shine, and it also has a SNAP matching program.

What’s more, the market also offers free health screenings, cooking demonstrations, activities for children and a walking program to encourage physical activity.
