Just Plain Sense

Raised on a farm and a pastor for more than 35 years, Illinois Farm Bureau member Jack Ottoson gained wisdom and insight throughout his life’s work. After retiring in 2009, he decided to share what he learned with others in his new memoir, “Just Plain Sense – Reflections of a Plains Pastor.”

Discussing his ministry experiences, Ottoson touches on several topics and themes throughout the book, including vocation, codependency and family systems, stewardship, friendships and more. Though he learned many lessons through his years on the farm and in the church, the insights he provides are relatable to people in all walks of life.
